Life Membership Christmas Lunch & Final Meeting for 2007

The final meeting of New South Wales Girls Group was held on Saturday 8th December at the L.H. Irwin Memorial Hall, home of the City of Blacktown Boys' Squadron Hall, Kildare Road Blacktown. An enjoyable lunch and afternoon was had by all officers who attended.

Prior to the Christmas Lunch Group Executive Commissioner; Mrs Robyn McKenzie presented to Mrs Ilma Nicholson OAM, an Australian Air League Life Membership.Lunch Mrs Glady Dean MSA was also presented with the Retired Officers Lanyard and authority card.


Saturday 28 July 2007 - Cadet of the Year Interviews


The New South Wales Girls Group Cadet of the Year Interviews took place at the L.H. Erwin Memorial Hall, Kildare Rd, Blacktown.

Cadets and Officers arrived at the hall from approximately 0900 hours for the Cadet of the Year, and Quiet Achiever interviews, all cadets must be congratulated on their appearance and presentation. Cadet of the Year Interviews 2007

During the morning, interviews and uniform inspection took place, and although some nerves were evident all cadets were a credit to their Squadrons.

On the conclusion of the interviews and uniform inspection a luncheon was held, and a big thank you should go to Collen Garland and Anne Ede for providing all who attended a wonderful lunch. Cadet of Year Inteviews 2007

At the completion of the main course the nominees for Senior Cadet, Cadet and Junior Cadet of the Year presented their speech on the Women's Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF). Congratulations to all the nominees for their presentations.Birthday Cake

At the conclusion of the speeches, and to celebrate the birthday of Mrs Ilma Nicholson, she was surprised by a birthday cake in her honour, from the Officers and Cadets. After the singing of the traditional Happy Birthday song, Mrs. Nicholson cut the cake.


Kingsford Smith Wing Parade - 29 July 2007   

KS Wing Parade Kingsford Smith Wing Parade was held at Riverwood on Sunday 29 July 2007, starting from Belmore Road and finishing at Riverwood Squadron Hall at Bland Oval, off Bonds Road, Riverwood. This Parade was held to mark the 50th Anniversary of Riverwood Squadron. Congratulations to the winners of the Kingsford Smith Wing Parade.
